Selection of Vortex Flow Meter

Vortex Flow Meterhas the characteristics of advanced circuit, low power consumption, range specific width, simple structure, small resistance loss, strong and durable, wide use, long service life, stable operation, easy installation and debugging, etc. It is widely used in industrial production measurement and control. In order to ensure the safe and stable operation of the equipment and ensure the measurement accuracy, it is particularly important to choose a suitable vortex flowmeter. Today, I will introduce how to choose vortex street flowmeter.

Vortex flowmeter can be divided into clamping type, flange type and insertion type according to different installation methods.

When selecting the type, first determine the diameter of the measured pipe and which installation method to use.

Clamping type and flange type suitable for pipe diameter DN15-DN300; Inserted vortex flowmeters are available for larger diameters (DN200 and above).

Secondly,It is necessary to understand some process parameters of the working condition, such as medium ? Corrosive?  Temperature of the medium? Work stress? Flow range? Material requirements? Are there any special requirements on the output mode? Installed piping conditions?

Vortex flowmeter at normal temperature is suitable for medium temperature below 250℃, beyond which high temperature type is required. So the selection to understand the actual working temperature of the medium. The working pressure of the medium is used to select the nominal pressure class of the sensor. Usually the nominal pressure of the equipment is one grade higher than the working pressure. Flow range, especially when measuring gas, the actual flow must be within the equipment range, otherwise the measurement accuracy cannot be guaranteed, or even cannot be measured. Material requirements: Under normal circumstances, the vortex flowmeter is 304 stainless steel body, and the probe is made of 316L. If special requirements require the machine to be made of 316L, please explain in advance when selecting the type. Is there any requirement for the output mode? Conventional 4-20mA output can also be done as RS485 communication interface (MODBUS protocol). Conventional equipment is integrated field display. Pipeline conditions for installation of vortex flowmeter: the front and rear of the sensor should have a long enough round straight pipe section, its inner diameter is smooth and consistent with the diameter DN. The front and rear straight sections vary depending on the front state to ensure that the fluid is fully developed. Installation conditions: keep away from the vibration source. If there is vibration, add a bracket at 2D of front and rear straight pipe section and use rubber to reduce vibration.
